 170+ Women participate in male-dominated trades in IndiaSkills 2024  900+ candidates from 30+ states and Union Territories are participating The IndiaSkills Competition 2024, which is underway from 15 th  to 19 th  May 2024 at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka has been witnessing increased participation of women in trades that were previously dominated by men. Female participants are competing head-to-head with their male counterparts, showcasing a lot of fervor and enthusiasm, and proving that skill and talent know no gender boundaries. This year, IndiaSkills is witnessing the participation of 900+ candidates from 30+ States and Union Territories in 61 skills and 400+ industry experts.   Directs CS & DGP to take strict action against culprits EC directs MHA to retain 25 CAPF companies in Andhra Pradesh after counting In a meeting held today at Nirvachan Sadan with Chief Secretary and DGP Andhra Pradesh, the Commission led by CEC Shri Rajiv Kumar and ECs Shri Gyanesh Kumar and Shri Sukhbir Singh Sandhu conveyed its displeasure over the post poll violence in Andhra Pradesh. Without mincing any words, the Commission directed CS and DGP to ensure that such violence is not repeated and all SPs to be tasked to take pre-emptive measures to avoid such a situation in future. The Commission reviewed the cases at their level and directed CS and DGP for strict supervision, to ensure appropriate decision on timely filing of chargesheet against the culprits, as per law, preferably within the model code of conduct period.   Consumer complaints relating to e-commerce on NCH rise from 95,270 in 2018 (22% of total grievances) to 4,44,034 in 2023 (43% of total grievances) The Department of Consumer Affairs held a stakeholder consultation here today on protection of consumer interest from online fake reviews. Mrs. Nidhi Khare, Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs chaired the meeting. The number of consumer grievances relating to e-commerce registered on the NCH have increased significantly. From  95,270 in 2018 (22% of total grievances), the number of grievances have risen to 4,44,034 in 2023 (43% of total grievances). Since e-commerce provides a virtual shopping experience where consumers cannot physically inspect the products, they depend significantly on reviews available on e-commerce platforms to gather insights and experiences from users who have already purchased the goods or services.  The Conservation and Cultural Archives Division of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) in New Delhi recently hosted an exhibition and lecture commemorating Rabindra Jayanti. The exhibition, titled ‘The Rare Photographs of Rabindranath Tagore’ was curated by Shri Ganesh Narayan Singh. Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary of IGNCA, graced the event as a distinguished guest. The seminar featured esteemed speakers including Dr. Fabien Chartier, Mr. Neelkamal Adak, and Mr. Basu Acharya, offering diverse perspectives on Tagore's legacy.  For the first time, India has set up its own pavilion, at the World Hydrogen Summit 2024, being held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, during May 13 – 15, 2024. The India Pavilion, set up by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government of India, is one of the largest pavilions at the Summit and has been inaugurated by Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Shri Bhupinder S. Bhalla on May 12, 2024. The World Hydrogen Summit is a prestigious event in the global green hydrogen ecosystem. Around 15,000 delegates from around the world are expected to attend the Summit.  The 106 Integrated Officer Trainees Course (IOTC) conducted a Valedictory Dinner on board First Training Squadron (1TS) on May 24, following their intense sea training. The chief guest for the occasion was VAdm V Srinivas, the flag officer commanding-in-chief of the Southern Naval Command. 99 sea trainees, including trainees from other countries, successfully finished their training through the 1TS portals. The FOC-in-C South gave the trainees medals to the deserving trainees and praised them for finishing the afloat training phase successfully. Telescope for the Best All Round Sea Trainee was awarded to Midshipman C Praneeth and Midshipman PPK Reddy received the Binocular for standing first in overall Order of Merit.
