Prachi Nigam, class 10 UP Board topper: UP Board Class 10 topper says, ‘If I had fewer marks…’

Prachi Nigam, who placed first in Class 10 of the UP Board with a score of 98.5%, was subjected to internet abuse because of her facial hair. In response, she has now said that she is unaffected by the trolls’ remarks because her academics, not her facial hair, are what really count. She did, however, also voice her dissatisfaction and say that if she had received fewer points, it would have been. Even though Prachi Nigam was being made fun of, a few others stood up to encourage and recognize her accomplishment. Nigam confronted the haters and silenced them. She stated, “It didn’t bother me much when I saw that people were trolling me,” in a recent interview with BBC News Hindi. Not my facial hair, but my marks matter.”

Peaceful polling across 13 States/UTs in phase 2 of General Elections

Polling in the second phase of  General Elections 2024   which commenced at 7 AM today simultaneously across 88 PCs recorded an approximate voter turnout of 60.96% as of 7 PM. Voters from across 13 States/UTs participated enthusiastically to cast their vote at their polling station braving the hot weather conditions. From newlyweds to senior citizens, tribals to IT professionals, PwDs, women and youngsters, all were seen in queues waiting to cast their vote. With the conclusion of phase-2, voting has been completed in 14 States/UTs for General Elections 2024.

Government to Establish Cotton Test Labs in 6 States for Kasturi Cotton

T he central government is preparing to set up high-grade Kasturi cotton testing labs in six states, as part of an effort to boost the Indian cotton brand internationally. At present, certification of Kasturi cotton is carried out by a restricted number of NABL-accredited laboratories. With this program, the government hopes to improve the quality standards and international recognition of Indian textiles. The Six States For Dedicated Testing Labs Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, and Karnataka will all have testing facilities specifically for Kasturi cotton established. To guarantee compliance with national quality standards, these labs will run in tandem with the testing facilities of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). These labs were established with stringent requirements, like a 2% waste content cap and 100% traceability, to guarantee the high quality of Kasturi cotton.
