“Pension Portals of all Pension Disbursing Banks to be integrated in the Integrated Pensioners’ Portal of Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare to ensure Ease of Living of Pensioners” says Secretary (P&PW)

With launch of Integrated Pensioners’ Portal of Bank of India, five Banks stand integrated to provide services from a single window

At the Bank of India's Integrated Pensioners' Portal launch ceremony on April 26, 2024, Shri. V Shrinivas, Secretary (P&PW), declared, "Pension Portals of all Pension Disbursing Banks to be integrated in the Integrated Pensioners’ Portal of Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare to ensure Ease of Living of Pensioners." Speaking at the event, he disclosed that the "Department of Pension & Pensioners Welfare" has implemented several measures to improve the well-being of retirees. One such project is the digital empowerment of elderly, which is being carried out via a number of channels, including the Bhavishya Portal and Digital Life Certificates.

The Bhavishya platform has ensured End-to-End digitization of the Pension processing and payment, which starts from the retiree filing his or her papers online and continues until the PPO is issued in electronic format and entering the Digilocker. This aligns with the objectives of transparency, digitization, and service delivery. With effect from January 1, 2017, all central government departments were required to use the "Bhavishya" platform, an integrated online pension processing system. Currently, 98 Ministries/Departments, comprising 870 Attached Offices and 8,174 DDOs on board, are effectively implementing this system. Based on the NeSDA Assessment 2021, the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare was ranked third out of all the Central Government e-Governance Service Delivery Portals for BHAVISHYA, an online monitoring system for pension sanction and payment created by DOPPW.
